Minimalistic jeans

I've mentioned before about my love/hate relationship with jeans- the problem is that I feel that people wear them way too much, to the point that if you look closely when you go out: it's like we are wearing a uniform. There are so many types of clothing, colors and textures... why wear the same thing over and over? I know it's easy, you just have to pick a random shirt on your closet and you are ready to go. But I like to challenge myself- maybe that's why I'm actually wearing them for the 1st time on this blog. I wore a similar version of this look to school on Friday- platform shoes and a big tote instead. However, I adapted it to go out with my bf at night. Also, I added a pop of color by wearing my favorite lipstick of all time (for all of you interested: 305 HOT by Covergirl). Also, I wanted to share that a super talented follower in Venezuela sent me this bag- she was so sweet :) That's it for today! XOXO

Les he mencionado anteriormente que tengo una relación amor-odio con los jeans- mi problema es que siento que la gente abusa de ellos hasta el punto que sales a la calle y todo el mundo lo está utilizando. Hay tanta variedad de piezas, colores, textures... ¿por qué usar siempre lo mismo? Se que es por comodidad.. escoges tu jean favorito y una camisa al azar del closet. Pero a mi me gusta retarme a mi misma, e intentar diferentes estilos- tal vez esa es  la razón por la que los quise usar. Utilicé un look parecido para ir a la univesidad pero con plataformas y una cartera grandota. Luego en la nochesita, quise adaptarlo para poder salir con mi novio- sentía que necesitaba un toque de color y por eso los labios rojos (el cual es mi color favorito- para las interesadas: 305 HOT de Covergirl). También quería contarles mi carterita: cuando estaba en Venezuela, una seguidora super talentosa me escribió ya que me quería mandar un regalito. Me pareció tan tierna, y cuando voy al correo: esta era la cartera! ME ENCANTA! (Mary Gaby, si estás leyendo esto: UN MILLON DE GRACIAS!). Eso es todo por hoy! Un abrazo giganteee!

Feeling classic!

If I was feeling bohemian on the last post, yesterday I definitely felt classy. I wanted to wear my black pumps, a small clutch, a bun, and red lipstick: very Audrey Hepburn. However, this is what I truly wear every day, and I tried to adapt how I felt with my Sunday afternoon plans: going to Miami Beach to walk around.  Reason why I wore my comfy flats and the fedora instantly makes your outfit casual- but I wanted a glam touch and I wore red-lipstick during the day. I know many of you think that red lipstick is for the night but some days we need to break the rules- Look at Gwen Stefani, she wears red everywhere (even to buy groceries) and she looks fantastic. We walked around for a while but it was so hot that the poor Chiqui was so thirsty that he tried to drink sea water (he is used to lakes so you can imagine his face). Wishing you a great week! XOXO

Si en el post anterior me sentía bohemia, en este definitivamente me sentía clásica. Tenía muchísimas ganas de ponerme unos tacones negros- pero como les he dicho, esto es lo que me pongo de verdad y creo que como me sentía no cuadraba con un domingo por la tarde con planes de ir a Miami Beach a pasear. Por esta razón me olvidé de los tacones y utilicé mis flats favoritos, la fedora es mágica- es impresionante como convierte tu look a uno casual en el instante. Pero como les digo, quería tener un toque "glam"- y la pintura de labios me pareció el toque que necesitaba. Se que muchas pensarán que este color debe ser usado solo de noche, pero ... ¿por qué no romper las reglas de vez en cuando? Mira a Gwen Stefani, ella sale al supermercado con pintura de labios roja y se ve espectacular. Volviendo al día, fuimos a Miami Beach a pasear y allá hay muchísimos parques/muelles a los que puedes llevar perros. Estaba haciendo tanto calor que nos tuvimos que ir al ratito - lo más cómico fue que Chiqui pensó que podía tomar agua del mar (ya que siempre mete la cabeza en los lagos) y si vieran la carita que puso. Creo que me extendí escribiendo, espero que tengan una bonita semana!! Un abrazo inmenso a todas!

I'm so upset that I couldn't enter last week's challenge! I kept waiting but my blazer is not ready yet. I went to the tailor today and he said that it'll be ready next week- I'll post my primary colors outfit next week (hopefully!!). As you might know, I'm not home and I really have to work with what I brought. I decided to wear these contrasting colors, I love how they look together (even though, I felt a little like a watermelon!). Mil disculpas que no pude participar en el reto de la semana pasada- igualmente subiré mi outfit cuando pueda. Hoy fue al sastre y todavía no tienen mi chaqueta azul lista. Como saben, solo tengo una pequeña parte de mi closet conmigo y tengo que trabajar con lo que tengo. Espero que les guste la combinación; aunque me sentía un poco patilla (watermelon!), me gusta que los colores al contrastar tanto llaman muchísimo la atención. Taylor Swift Concert!

Yesterday, I was invited to attend the Taylor Swift's concert thanks to Covergirl. I have to admit, I'm not  her #1 fan- but I enjoy her songs. We got there super early because we thought we would caught up in traffic- we started taking pics of the fans and the venue outside (since they wouldn't let us enter with my bf's huge camera). It was so funny how fanatics some girls were- we took a picture of three sisters that wore "Taylor's signature outfit"- sequined dress and boots. We picked up the tickets and waited backstage for the "Meet&Greet"- I got to talk a little with her and take a picture. She's soo soo nice, I told her I have a tutorial on how to do her hair and she got super excited about it. She's TALL, I was wearing huge wedges and she was almost in flats and she's still taller than my bf. The concert was super fun- even though I didn't know most of the songs,  I truly enjoyed it. About my outfit: you know why I wore wedges, it was extremely hot outside (hence the shorts and simple shirt)- but I knew it'll be cold inside the venue (and I was right!). Ayer tuve la oportunidad de ir a concierto de Taylor Swift gracias a Covergirl. Les tengo que admitir que no soy su fan #1,  me sé las canciones famosas pero hasta ahí. Llegamos super temprano al sitio donde era el concierto, así que nos pusimos a tomar fotos para aprovechar que no podíamos entrar con la cámara grande. Era impresionante lo fanáticas que son las niñitas- le tomé una foto a unas hermanas que estaban vestidas como ella (vestido de lentejuelas y botas country). Recogimos nuestras entradas y esperamos para ir al "Meet&Greet" (Conocer  y saludar), nos llevaron tras bastidores para conocerla y tomarnos una foto con ella. Les tengo que contar, apenas la ví le dije que me encantaba su cabello y que tenía un tutorial en youtube de como hacerlo. Si supieran lo simpática que es, me dijo que siempre ve esos videos y que me agradecía mucho por tomarme el tiempo de hacerlo. Como pueden ver, es ALTISIMA- yo fui en plataformas porque sabía que ella es alta (y a diferencia de Alessandra Ambrosio, ella tenía unos mini-mini tacones). El concierto estuvo super chevere- y aunque no me sabía todas las canciones, lo disfruté muchísimo. Sobre mi outfit: ya saben porque quería ir en tacones jaja,  estaba haciendo muchísimo calor (por eso los shorts y una camisa sencilla), pero sabía que adentro iba a hacer frío ( y tenía razón!) y por eos me llevé la chaqueta. ¿Les gusta Taylor? Yesterday, a close friend- Tatiana from Furor- had a small event called "Shop til you drop" where you could buy clothing and accessories from her online store, catch up with friends and drink a little wine. I had a great time, I finally saw a friend who I haven't seen in AGES- also, Tati and I talked "business" and we planned a great giveaway for YOU!. I love her online store because she has great vintage pieces, statement accessories and beautiful bags (you have to see the pictures I took-below- I was the "photographer" of the day").  I'm so so excited about the giveaway, I can't wait to tell you all the details. Ayer fue un día super chevere porque una de mis amigas cercanas, Tatiana de Furor, tuvo un evento donde podías comprar cositas de su tienda, chismear un ratito, y compartir con vino. De verdad que la pasé super, vi a otra amiga que tenía años sin ver y luego Tati y yo hicimos "negocios".  Hablamos para hacer una rifa aquí (QUE EMOCION!), razón por la cual las invito a su boutique (wwww.furormoda.com) y que vean todas las cosas lindas que tiene. Me encanta porque tiene muchas piezas vintage pero arregladas para que se vean actuales. También tiene accesorios y carteras lindísimas, tienen que ver las fotos que tomé (abajo)- fui la fotógrafa del día. También tomé fotos de decoraciones que tiene que me encantan, como unas fotos de  la revista Vogue vintage (como de los 80's)! Así que ya saben, pronto tendremos una rifa aquí y mientras pueden ir viendo su tienda y contarme que creen que va a ser- o que les gustaría que sea! FELIZ FIN!

A pink Saturday!

Yesterday, I was checking one of my favorite blogs (Lovely Pepa)- and she was wearing an amazing pink blazer I wanted from Zara  with Leather pants. I felt super inspired and tried to give it my own twist- I don't own a pink blazer but I have this vintage oversized shirt that can be worn over a tee.  While we were taking the pictures, I decided to put my hair up in a bun (that's why there are some pics with my hair down too). About my day: I wanted to buy some high-waisted shorts and I have been looking everywhere but I can't find them! After that, I had dinner with my boyfriend and we ended up watching a movie called "limitless". How was your weekend? Happy Mother's day to all the moms out there!

Ayer estaba viendo uno de mis blogs favoritos (Lovely Pepa) y ella estaba usando un blazer espectacular rosado de Zara con pantalones de cuero. Cuando vi ese blazer en Zara, me enamoré- lo quería comprar pero me pareció un poco caro para el color y el tiempo que podía estar de moda. Me sentí super inspirada y quise darle mi toque personal- como no tengo un blazer rosado, utilicé esta camisa vintage abierta sobre una camiseta. Mientras estabamos tomando las fotos, decidí recogerme el cabello en un moño (por eso verán algunas fotos con el cabello recogido y otras con el cabello suelto). Sobre mi día: estuve buscando unos shorts altos que llevo meses buscando y no encuentro en ningún lado. Luego fui a comer con mi novio y terminamos en el cine viendo la película "Limitless". ¿Cómo pasaron su fin de semana?Feliz día a todas las madres!
