Red & Stripes!

I was on "vacation" this week- the university gives us one week between quarters. All I did was sleep and relax! Yesterday, my boyfriend's parents arrived in Miami so we had dinner with them at this delicious argentinian restaurant. This is what I wore- I really wanted to wear this sweater again but this time with colorful jeans. Also, I added a simple tube top underneath so it wasn't see-through. Esta semana he estado de vacaciones- apenas nos dieron una semana- lo que he hecho es dormir y descansar (más bien demasiado!). Ayer llegaron los papás de mi novio de visita y fuimos a comer a un restaurante argentino. Esto fue lo que me puse: quise combinar el suéter que vieron la semana pasada con unos jeans rojos. Pero le agregué una camisa negra abajo para que no se transparentara nada. Una vez más, gracias por sus comentarios y por visitar el blog! Leather shorts and lace!

 

We are still trying to improve the pictures after the sun goes down- it's harder and even though we were using a professional flash (borrowed), sometimes it focused what it shouldn't. When I got home I realized I was blurry and the Britto art in the back looked perfect. After going to the Everglades in the afternoon, I got back home and got ready to go out. I really wanted to wear my new "leather" shorts ( can you believe they cost me only $15? and they are super comfy). This time I paired it with studded booties and a studded bag for a rocker vibe- however, the feminine lace balances it out. My boyfriend got obsessed with 100 montaditos so we went there AGAIN- but this time it was more to hand out/drink than eat (they have an amazing drink called "tinto de verano"- which is wine and Sierra Mist...delicious!). We stayed there until they kicked us out around 11:30- so we headed to Miami Beach. What would you wear with this shorts? Thanks for stopping by, I love reading your amazing comments! YOU ROCK!

Todavía estamos intentando mejorar las fotos de noche- nunca es lo mismo que tomarlas de día. Estas las tomamos rapidíto llegando al bar a donde fuimos- pero al subirlas a la computadora me dí cuenta que muchas enfocan a la obra de Britto que está de fondo en vez de enfocarme a mi. Después de ir a los Everglades, llegué a la casa  a bañarme y arreglarme para salir- era un domningo pero el lunes era día feriado. Aunque no lo crean, mi novio se obsesionó con 100 montaditos y fuimos OTRA VEZ- pero nos quedamos tomando tinto de verano hasta que cerraron el sitio-super temprano por cierto. De ahí nos fuimos a la Lincoln Road ya que ahí hay muchísimos sitios. Sobre mi outfit: encontré los shorts de "cuero" en Forever 21 por $15- aparte son comodísimos. Esta vez los quise combinar bastante rocker con botines y una cartera con taches pero equilibrándo un poco lo feminino con la camisa de encaje (que saben que es una de mis favoritas). ¿Con qué se pondrían estos shorts? Feeling classic!

If I was feeling bohemian on the last post, yesterday I definitely felt classy. I wanted to wear my black pumps, a small clutch, a bun, and red lipstick: very Audrey Hepburn. However, this is what I truly wear every day, and I tried to adapt how I felt with my Sunday afternoon plans: going to Miami Beach to walk around.  Reason why I wore my comfy flats and the fedora instantly makes your outfit casual- but I wanted a glam touch and I wore red-lipstick during the day. I know many of you think that red lipstick is for the night but some days we need to break the rules- Look at Gwen Stefani, she wears red everywhere (even to buy groceries) and she looks fantastic. We walked around for a while but it was so hot that the poor Chiqui was so thirsty that he tried to drink sea water (he is used to lakes so you can imagine his face). Wishing you a great week! XOXO

Si en el post anterior me sentía bohemia, en este definitivamente me sentía clásica. Tenía muchísimas ganas de ponerme unos tacones negros- pero como les he dicho, esto es lo que me pongo de verdad y creo que como me sentía no cuadraba con un domingo por la tarde con planes de ir a Miami Beach a pasear. Por esta razón me olvidé de los tacones y utilicé mis flats favoritos, la fedora es mágica- es impresionante como convierte tu look a uno casual en el instante. Pero como les digo, quería tener un toque "glam"- y la pintura de labios me pareció el toque que necesitaba. Se que muchas pensarán que este color debe ser usado solo de noche, pero ... ¿por qué no romper las reglas de vez en cuando? Mira a Gwen Stefani, ella sale al supermercado con pintura de labios roja y se ve espectacular. Volviendo al día, fuimos a Miami Beach a pasear y allá hay muchísimos parques/muelles a los que puedes llevar perros. Estaba haciendo tanto calor que nos tuvimos que ir al ratito - lo más cómico fue que Chiqui pensó que podía tomar agua del mar (ya que siempre mete la cabeza en los lagos) y si vieran la carita que puso. Creo que me extendí escribiendo, espero que tengan una bonita semana!! Un abrazo inmenso a todas!

I had no idea what to wear to this week's challenge- I didn't want to buy a polka dot piece since the idea of these challenges is not to encourage you to buy BUT to recycle what you already have and "challenge" you to be creative. The only piece of clothing I had was this shirt but it's so.... PLAIN. Reason why I wanted to wear it with this bright jeans and classy blazer. Finally, I added the red lipstick- it's hot 305 by Covergril. About my day: It was raining  and the plan to go to the beach was completely ruined (you can see how cloudy it was). I just went to the mall because my bf wanted to check out some Nike shoes - or something like that. At night, we watched the basketball game (even though, I'm not really a fan). Llevaba toda la semana pensando que usar para el reto- no quería comprar nada porque la idea de estos retos no es salir a comprar cosas, es utilizar lo que ya tenemos en nuestro closet. La unica pieza de lunares que tengo es esta camisa, y siento que es tan... normal. Por eso quise combinarle con algunas piezas bastante llamativas para darle un giro (aparte que el día amaneció lloviendo y lloviendo como pueden ver en las fotos- y usar color siempre nos alegra de alguna forma). Para completar el look decidí pintarme los labios de rojo, un rojo super vibrante que me fascina. Me lo recomendó una maquillista de celebridades en un evento de Covergirl- se llama "Hot 305 de Lip-perfection". Sobre mi día: como les dije, estaba lloviendo y los planes de ir a la playa se arruinaron. Fue un domingo tranquilo, solo acompañe a mi novio a Nike que quería ver unos zapatos (o algo así). 4.5 YEARS!

I wanted to do a quick post with few pics from last night (I was so stressed out that I didn't want to take many picturess but I really wanted to show you the outfit). The day started at the university. When I was leaving the parking garage, my car just stopped ( I thought it was the battery or something). However, some guys started screaming to me doing crazy signs.... all the gas was coming out from the bottom of the car (and the tank was full.... 12 gallons of gas ended on the floor). I'm so grateful a lot of people helped me, the whole parking team was there. Some moved the car out of the way, others cleaned the gas, and a guy was in charge of making sure no one was smoking. It was a crazy day, my car is at the dealer and when I came home, I felt sick because of the smell and my shoes were completely wet (yes, because of the gas). I was just exhausted... I decided to take a shower and get dressed... my bf was taking me out to a "romantic dinner"  because we were celebrating that we have being together for 4.5 years!  We ate sushi (again?! lol); but we tried a roll but "a hispanic twist"- it actually had cubans croquettes and plantain on top...delicious. I'm sorry, this was supposed to be a quick post.  Thanks for your comments and your support! XOXO

Quería hacer un post rapidito con pocas fotos de anoche (estaba tan estresada que no quería tomar fotos pero tampoco queía dejar de mostrarles mi outfit). Les cuento de mi DESASTRE de día, tuve que ir a hacer unas diligencias en la universidad y saliendo del estacionamiento... se me apaga el carro. Yo juraba que era algo de la batería, pero no... toda (TODA) la gasolina se estaba botando por debajo del carro. Le acababa de echar el tanque completo y todo quedó en el piso, más el peligro de que algo explotara. Un grupo de gente me ayudó: a moverlo, a limpiar la gasolina, a evitar que nadie fumara por la zona, a llamar a la grúa. Mi novio estaba con pacientes (el es psicólogo), y no podía ir a "salvarme"; así que uno de mis mejores amigos fue y me llevó a mi casa. Ahora estoy sin carrito :(, llegue a mi casa mariada del olor a gasolina y con mis flats emparamados de gasolina. Me bañe y me arreglé para despejarme y porque.... mi novio y yo cumplimos 4 años y medio juntos! (WOW, demasiado tiempo). Fuimos a cenar y listo! Comimos sushi (como casi siempre); pero probamos uno que era "con un toque hispano"- tenía croquetas cubanas y platano; suena raro, pero estaba riquísimo. Eso es todo por hoy, me extendí escribiendo.
