Crazy, Funky, Junky...

Even though it still is very hot in Miami- I feel like you are able to wear jeans without melting (just don't stay too long outdoors). Also, a lot of you have asked me to do more looks with jeans and I'm trying to incorporate them more often in my wardrobe in a chic way- and I actually love this outfit! A couple of days ago I saw a girl wearing a necklace with a big feather- so I decided to use my feather earring and put it on a chain! Finally, I decided to add my lit as and a fedora. About my day: it was my last day of "vacation" (the mini break I had)- I just started a new quarter at the university and I'm so excited about the classes I'm taking! I spent the day running some errands, and having lunch! Thanks for stopping by! XOXO

Aunque todavía esta haciendo bastante calor- ya uno se puede poner jeans sin derretirse (mientras no pases mucho tiempo en el sol). También me han pedido bastante looks con jeans, y estoy intentando incorporarlos a mi día a día sin sentirme desarreglada- al contrario, este look me gusta muchísimo. Les cuento que vi en un catálogo a una muchacha usando un collar con una pluma gigante- y se me ocurrió agarrar un zarcillo(arete) y guindarlo de una cadenita; quedó igualito y no me costó ni un centavo. Finalmente quise combinar el outfit con mis litas y una fedora. Sobre mi día: fue mi último día de mis mini-vacaciones, ya empecé clases otra vez! Así que estuve haciendo unas diligencias, descansando, y paseando un poco. Gracias por visitar el blog- se los agradezco muchísimo!

Black & Cream

As I told you on the previous post, this friday I had my last final- it was one of my favorite classes: History of Fashion I. I wore this sweater to the test but with black jeans because it's so cold there. However, I got home so early (it wasn't even 10 am) that I went back to sleep and when I woke up, I wanted to make this outfit "miami friendly". I saw these vintage D&G on my closet and I thought they were perfect to make this outfit completely "cream and black- but I wanted to add a pop of color with a bright-pink lipstick. Later, we had dinner at a sushi place where they have the best chicken rolls! Thanks for stopping by! XOXO

Como les conté en el post anterior,  el viernes tuve mi último final- para la clase de History de la moda, en el cual utilicé este suetercito pero con un pantalón por el frío de la universidad. Pero como era solo ir a presentar el examen, todavía era super temprano- regresé a la casa, dormí y me desperté con ganas de convertir este el outfit un poco más amigable con el calor de Miami. Quise que el outfit fuera totalmente crema y negro- razón por la cual escogí estos zapatos vintage Dolce&Gabbana (que encontré en una tienda de segunda mano por $20, y estaban como NUEVOS!). Finalmente, me puse una pinturita de labios fucsia para darle un toque de color. Después fui a cenar sushi con mi novio- estaba antojadísima de un roll de pollo. Un abrazo inmenso a todas!

The feather earrings!

As some of you might know, I just started studying "Fashion Merchandising" after graduating in Business and working in social media for about a year. I also promised that I would share what I wear to school- the hard part about dressing up for fashion school is that you still want to be comfortable in class but you DO want to look like you study fashion- and it's even harder when it's 6 am and you just want to stay in your PJs. About this outfit:  when I was checking out everyone's entries for last week's challenge  "Dress like your favorite blogger,  I realized I had all the pieces to recreate FanceeNancee's outfit so I went for it. I wore this to school on Wednesday, a day full of quizzes and proyects! I hope you are having an amazing weekend! XOXO

Como muchas sabe, regresé a la universidad después de un año de haberme graduado en Administración y estar trabajando en social media/relaciones públicas. Pero esta vez estoy estudiando "Fashion Merchandising" o mercadeo de moda- y les prometí mostrarles lo que llevo a la universidad.  Lo difícil de vestirse diariamente para ir a una escuela de moda es encontrar el balance entre "comodidad de universidad" y algo que diga "pero estudio una carrera relacionada con la moda" - y más aún cuando son las 6 am y lo que quieres es ir en pijamas. En el reto de la semana pasada "vístete como tu blogger favorita",  FanceeNancee compartió un outfit con unos jeans verdes y una fedora- apenas lo vi le comenté  fue como "tengo todas las piezas para recrearlo". Como les dije, esto fue lo que usé para ir a la universidad el miércoles; un día lleno de proyectos y examenes! Espero que esten disfrutan el fin de semana! Un abrazo!

A couple of hours ago I published this week's challenge but... I used pictures from two months ago (where I got inspired by Lovely Pepa, click here to see it). I really do not like to repost outfits more than once. As I mentioned, I had a little problem uploading these pics- but here they are, I hope you like them. My inspiration was Andy from StyleScrapbook- I love her blog&style and I'm so proud that she's a successful latina in Europe. I really wanted to give it my personal stye, reason why I changed the flat black hat to a fedora. About my Saturday: I spent it thrift store shopping but I didn't buy absolutely anything. First I went to a famous thrift store but it was a little scary, there was even a woman with an ankle tracking device. Then, I decided to go to C.Madeleines (a Rachel Zoe fave) where all they sell are vintage designer pieces- everything cost over $400. However, I love going there; everything is gorgeous... Dior from the 60's, Chanel from the 60s and they have everything organized by decade. After that  I had dinner with my boyfriend, and came back home! Did you enter this week's challenge? Hace un rato publiqué el reto de la semana pero con fotos repetidas de cuando me inspiré en el outfit de Lovely Pepa.- y de verdad que no me gusta publicar los outfits más de una vez. Como le había mencionado, tuve un problemita pasando las fotos pero ya lo solucioné y aquí están...espero que les gusten. Mi inspiración fue Andy de StyleScrapbook- me encanta tu blog y me encanta que sea un latina exitosa en Europa. Sus outfits siempre tienen algo especial... muy ella... razón por la que quise inspirarme en el outfit que ven abajo, pero darle mi toque personal. Les cuento que ayer tenía ganas de ir a tiendas de segunda mano/vintage; fui a una a la que nunca había ido y casi me da algo...había hasta una muchacha con la cosa esa del tobillo de la polícia. Tenían muchas cosas y estaba muy organizado pero prefiero ir un día de la semana. Después quise aventurarme a C.Madeleines- es un sitio famoso de cosas vintage pero de diseñador, nada baja de $400. Es  ESPECTACULAR, Dior de los 60s, Chanel de los 70s y así. Todo lo tienen organizado por década y tipo de ropa, como les dije: un espectáculo! Feeling classic!

If I was feeling bohemian on the last post, yesterday I definitely felt classy. I wanted to wear my black pumps, a small clutch, a bun, and red lipstick: very Audrey Hepburn. However, this is what I truly wear every day, and I tried to adapt how I felt with my Sunday afternoon plans: going to Miami Beach to walk around.  Reason why I wore my comfy flats and the fedora instantly makes your outfit casual- but I wanted a glam touch and I wore red-lipstick during the day. I know many of you think that red lipstick is for the night but some days we need to break the rules- Look at Gwen Stefani, she wears red everywhere (even to buy groceries) and she looks fantastic. We walked around for a while but it was so hot that the poor Chiqui was so thirsty that he tried to drink sea water (he is used to lakes so you can imagine his face). Wishing you a great week! XOXO

Si en el post anterior me sentía bohemia, en este definitivamente me sentía clásica. Tenía muchísimas ganas de ponerme unos tacones negros- pero como les he dicho, esto es lo que me pongo de verdad y creo que como me sentía no cuadraba con un domingo por la tarde con planes de ir a Miami Beach a pasear. Por esta razón me olvidé de los tacones y utilicé mis flats favoritos, la fedora es mágica- es impresionante como convierte tu look a uno casual en el instante. Pero como les digo, quería tener un toque "glam"- y la pintura de labios me pareció el toque que necesitaba. Se que muchas pensarán que este color debe ser usado solo de noche, pero ... ¿por qué no romper las reglas de vez en cuando? Mira a Gwen Stefani, ella sale al supermercado con pintura de labios roja y se ve espectacular. Volviendo al día, fuimos a Miami Beach a pasear y allá hay muchísimos parques/muelles a los que puedes llevar perros. Estaba haciendo tanto calor que nos tuvimos que ir al ratito - lo más cómico fue que Chiqui pensó que podía tomar agua del mar (ya que siempre mete la cabeza en los lagos) y si vieran la carita que puso. Creo que me extendí escribiendo, espero que tengan una bonita semana!! Un abrazo inmenso a todas!

Feeling bohemian...

I got this maxi skirt at Forever 21 a couple of months ago, I love how comfy and light it is- perfect for the summer. Since I was feeling 'bohemian", I decided to finish the look with a fedora and a feather hair accessory (it's a clip on but it looks like feather extensions). In theory, petite women should not wear maxi skirts (or at least wear them with high heels/wedges so they don't make you look shorts). However, sometimes we need to forget the rules and wear what you feel like wearing. My day started cleaning the house and buying groceries because I couple of friends were coming over to my house for a small get-together. I don't drink (at all) but they were all playing drinking games. How was your weekend? I hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

Este falda la compré en Forever 21 hace unos meses y me encanta lo cómoda y fresca que es- perfecta para el verano. Ya que me sentía "bohemia", decidí completar el look con la fedora y un clip de plumitas en el cabello (como si fueran extensiones pero es un clip quita y pon). Supuestamente a las bajitas, no nos conviene usar faldas largas- y si lo hacemos debemos usar tacones para alargar la silueta. Yo considero que hay momentos en que tenemos que olvidarnos de las reglas, no estoy usando tacones y no creo verme tan pequeña (¿o si?). Usa algo si te gusta, que importa lo que la gente piense o si no "se supone" que lo hagas. Mi día empezó arreglando la casa y haciendo mercado ya que hice una reunión en la nochesita. Vino un grupo de amigos, estuvieron en  mi casa toda la noche tomando y echando broma. ¿Cómo estuvo tu fin de semana? Espero que esten descansando mucho hoy domingo! Un abrazo
