Fire Ashes

The day started super early for an 8am class (I was about to go to class in my pjs today!). I had a quiz, the professor lectured us for a while and I came back home to sleep for a couple of hours! When I woke up, I really wanted to dress up a little. I headed to eat and do some errands for class- I went to Michael's (an arts&crafts store) because I needed to get some materials for a project. I had an amazing idea in mind but I knew it wouldn't come out as expected so I decided to lower the difficulty. I'll definitely show it to you when it's ready! After that I came back home to do homework and study (aghh). About my outfit: I wanted to wear this scarf as a turband (turban+headband), you have already seen it as a skirt and as a regular scarf. I also wanted to show you this amazing necklace from Brittney Miranda- I love the little gold spikes, you can dress it up or down. El día empezó tempranito para ir a las clases a las 8 am ( ni les cuento del outfit porque estuve apunto de irme en pijamas). Tuve un quiz y regresé a la casa a dormir otro ratito- como les he dicho, no soy de despertarme temprano. Después quise arreglarme para ir a pasear, comer, y hacer unas diligencias. Les cuento que estuve horas paseando en Michael's (un sitio que venden materiales para hacer proyectos); tenía una idea genial para un trabajo de una clase pero después de pensarlo mucho decidí bajarle el nivel de dificultad (soy bastante perfeccionista, y se que no iba a quedar como lo veía en mi mente). Llegué a la casa a seguir estudiando (esto es a millón, he tenido quiz/examenes todos los días). Sobre el outfit: ya han visto esta bufanda hasta de falda. También quería mostrarles este collar de Brittney Miranda- tenía tiempo buscando uno así con pullitas y dorado, apenas lo ví me enamoré. Dependiendo de con que lo combines puede ser elegante o casual. En formspring me pidieron que utilizara estas plataformas de nuevo, si quieren: pregúntenme lo que sea por esa vía. El perrito que ven en las fotos en un perrito callejero, siempre le llevamos comidita de perro (cada vez se nos acerca más). Stupid Crazy love...kinda

Remember I told I spent Sunday at JC Penney? This is what I got... colorful jeans! I was so excited because they were only $16 (originally $40)- I decided to take them in royal blue too (and I wore them the day after, so you'll see them soon). My day started at 6am to go to class at 8am, I wore a similar version of this outfit (sandals instead of wedges and a casual necklace). Later at night, we headed to the movies because I won some tickets to saw a private screening of Crazy Stupid Love- however, we got there a little late and the theater was full. We decided to stay at the mall but the heat made it impossible- I felt like I was going to melt because of the jeans. I know I have complained of the heat several times- but I'm serious.. this is not normal (90F degrees at 8pm!!). Thanks for your sweet comments!! I really appreciate it!

¿Se acuerdan que les conté que pasé el domingo en JC Penney? Esto fue lo que encontré JEANS DE COLORES- estaban a solo $16 (originalmente $40) así que agarré estos y unos en azul rey (parte del outfit de mañana). Utilicé una versión similar a este outfit en la mañana (pero con sandalias en vez de tacones y un collar más de día)- luego en la noche nos adventuramos al cine ya que me gané unas entradas para ver Crazy Stupid Love- pero... había muchísimo tráfico y cuando llegamos la sala de cine estaba completamente llena. Teníamos ganas de quedarnos en el centro comercial un ratito pero el calor no era normal- diran que me la paso diciendo eso pero estar en jeas en un mall al aire libre era IMPOSIBLE. Terminamos cenando y viendo una película en la casa.

Fallen Floral!

First of all, I know I've been wearing these shoes a lot lately- but they are so comfy and they go with anything. Also, I'm wearing the same bag as the last post.. but sometimes I hate having to change bags and everything that's inside. The started by going to a new Ann Taylor store, I loved the whole boutique concept-  I'll tell you more about it next week since I'm going to a cool event with style influencers and bloggers. After that, my boyfriend needed work clothes so I went with him- after that we were super hungry and we decided to eat arabian food. At the end of the day, we decided to watch Harry potter 7.2- I truly loved it; as a fan, I read the first book when I was 11, I felt like a part of my life was over. Primero que nada me disculpo que estoy utilizando los mismos zapatos y cartera- pero no se i les pasa, pero hay días que no quiero cambiar las cosas de una cartera a otra... en cuanto  a los zapatos: es que me encantan (son cómodos, casuales y combinan con todo). El día empezó yendo a la apertura de un nuevo concepto de tienda de Ann Taylor- pero el jueves que viene voy a un evento privado solo para bloggers y editores (ya les contaré que tal estuvo). Después de eso, acompañe a mi novio a comprar ropa para el trabajo y fuimos a comer comida árabe. Finalmente decidimos ir a ver finalmente Harry Potter 7.2- a mi me encantó, como fan de los libros (los cuale empecé a leer cuando tenía 11 años) sentí que una parte de mi vida se acabó. Pero tengo los 7 libros y estoy segura que los volveré a leer todos algún dia. ¿Ustedes la vieron? ¿Qué les pareció? FELIZ SEMANA! <3

Miami Fashion Week

Yesterday I was invited to a fashion show called Cosmo Splash, sponsored by Covergirl, Pantene, and Cosmopolitan. I know you have already seen this outfit, I wore it as part of the AM-PM challenge- but, as I said there, I was saving it to this event. Also, I changed the accessories while keeping the color-blocking intact. We (Tati from Furor, my bf and I) got there very early, so we had time to socialize with other bloggers and media, we had some cocktails and got ready for the fashion show. My boyfriend was the official photographer, he looked like he had so much fun shooting the models ( he even had a spot with all the media). He took amazing pictures, they look so professional, I will dedicate a full post to show you my favorite looks on the runway and some trends I saw. Sofía Vergara's sister sang before the show- she's the one wearing a maxi leopard dress in the pictures below; and then, several designers presented their swimsuit/summer collections. It was so much fun, I'm very grateful because I was there thanks to all your support! I hope you have a great weekend and, again, thank you for stopping by! YOU ROCK!

Ayer tuve la oportunidad de ir al fashion show llamado Cosmo Splash, patrocinado por CoverGirl y Pantene. Se que algunas van a decir que estoy repitiendo el outfit del reto (del día a la noche), pero como les dije en ese post: este outfit lo estaba guardando para este vento. Le cambié todos los accesorios, pero lo que más llama la atención (los bloques de color de la falda/camisa) sigue siendo el mismo. Fui con Tati de Furor y llegamos bastante temprano, y tuvimos tiempo de compartir con otras blogueras, tomarnos unos tragos, y prepararnos para el show. Mi novio estuvo de fotógrafo profesional, tenía su espacio con toda la prensa para tomarles fotos a las modelos (hoy les dejo un pequeño adelanto pero mañana quiero compartir con ustedes los looks que más me gustaron y algunas tendencias que ví, ¿les parece bien?). Antes de empezar el show, la hermana de Sofía Vergara cantó unas canciones (la pueden ver abajo con un vestido largo de leopardo). Después varias diseñadores presentaron colección dedicada a la parte de traje de baño y verano. Perdonen que todavía no les he contado como me va en la universidad ni hemos publicado el reto pero pronto todo regresará a la normalidad. Feliz fin de semana a todas! Que la pasen buenísimo, gracias por visitar el blog- gracias a ustedes es que se me dan estas oportunidades tan asombrosas y estoy infinitamente agradecida.

Tribal print and fringe!

This is what I wore last Sunday- it was gorgeous outfit and the whole look was inspired around this fringed bag. I really wanted to achieve a tribal look- and I was upset that I didn't own any time of tribal print skirt or shorts. However, I found this summer scarf and I decided to wrap it around me as a tight skirt (don't worry, I was wearing shorts underneath just in case). If you liked the bag, I have GREAT news... I'm going to give away one just like this one! Also.. I have a quick question: do you like the new layout of the blog? I spent last night trying to give it a slight makeover. Esto fue lo que utilicé el domingo- el día estaba lindísimo y el outfit fue inspirado alrededor de esta cartera de flecos. Como quería mantener el look tribal, estaba antojadísima de usar una falda/shorts de este estilo. Lamentablemente, la única pieza con estampado tribal que tengo es un pañuelo largo- así que decidí convertirlo en una falda (no se preocupen, tenía unos shorts de hacer ejercicio debajo por si ocurría algún tipo de emergencia). Si les gustó la cartera, les tengo una buena noticia: pronto tendremos una rifa de una idéntica a esta (o de los otros colores que tienen). Pearls and lace!

After getting my shoes dirty yesterday, I came back home to take a quick shower and changed  clothes. I love the romantic feeling of this outfit because of the pears and the lace. Also, I wanted to keep the look simple- so I put my hair up in a bun (which was a great idea, it was extremely hot!). We headed to a friend's birthday party ( it was supposed to be a surprise party, but as all surprise parties.. he knew). I had a lot of fun specially because I haven't seen my friends in a while ( I was in Venezuela the past month). Después de ensuciarme los zapatos en el desastre de sesión de fotos de ayer, regresé a la casa a cambiarme urgentemente. Me encanta lo romántico que es este outfit gracias al encaje y a las perlas- no quería sobrecargar el collar y para mantener el lok más simple decidí amarrarme el cabello en un moño alto (buena decisión por el calor!).  De ahí fuimos a buscar a varios amigos y nos fuimos al cumpleaños de otro- estuvimos ahí toda la noche y la pase especialmente bien porque tenía tiempo sin verlos ( estuve en Venezuela casi un mes). Vintage D&G shoes!

I have to admit that there's something I don't like about this outfit even though I wore it yesterday. I feel like it looked better in the mirror than in pics. Well... I'm not going to lie, this is what I wore. I wanted to wear my new (but vintage) Dolce&Gabbana shoes (I bought them for $20!!).- since they are beige and black, I grabbed this pair of shorts, and my favorite bag. Then I saw, this vintage white shirt that I haven't worn ..... but It looks so white (maybe it was the flash, but I don't like how it looks here) I loved how my hair looks, it's SO long- it took me a while to get it styled. And I really liked my makeup too, I'm using a super light-barbie pink lipstick with just brown liquid eyeliner. About my day: I stayed in bed the whole afternoon, I needed it. After that we had dinner at a new sushi restaurant close to my house (it's called sushi sake). Then we tried to go to the movies but all of them were sold out. I wanted to see bridesmaids, I've heard it's very funny!  Thanks for visiting my blog! It means the world to me!

Les tengo que admitir que hay algo que no me convence de este outfit y si... me lo puse ayer. Siento que se veía mejor en el espejo que en las fotos (por eso es una buena idea tomar fotos antes de salir para ver como se ve). Pero bueno, no les voy a mentir- esto fue lo que me puse. Quería usar mis zapatos Dolce&Gabbana vintage, que me costaron $20 y como son crema con negro: lo primero que agarré fueron estos shorts beige y mi cartera favorita. Luego pensé en una camisa blanca vintage que no he usado, pero se ve demasiado blanca (no se si es el flash que hace que se vea así también). Me encantó como me quedó el cabello, está demasiado largo- me tardé una eternidad en peinarlo. También me fascina la pinturita de labios rosadita clara que llevo. Sobre mi día: estuve descansando toda la tarde porque estaba agotada de la semana, luego fuimos a comer sushi en un restaurante nuevo (Se llama Sushi Sake y es divino- aparte que la decoración es espectacular). Luego intentamos ir al cine, pero aparentemente todo Miami quería ir al cine y TODAS las películas estaban agotadas. Gracias por visitar el blog! Significa muchísimo para mi.
