Kennedy Park

This Saturday was one of those days that we had no idea what to do- as I told you on previous posts; my bf's parents were in town so while we waited for them to go to eat to Montaditos, we decided to go to a nearby dog park. We not only took chiki, but we "dog-napped" (kidnap for dogs lol) Mia- the puppy of my boyfriend's sister. The best part about that park is that it has two closed sections- one for big dogs and one for little ones. There you can take out the leash and let them run around. The funny part was that Mia doesn't know how to walk with a leash so she would just sit and she wouldn't move AT ALL (so I had to carry her). El sábado fue un día de esos que no sabíamos que hacer- como les dije, los papás de mi novio estaban de visita en Miami pero estaban en su mundo haciendo diligencias y eso. Razón por la cual mientras los esperábamos, decidimos "secuestrar" a la perrita de la hermana de mi novio y llevarla (junto con Chiqui) a pasear a un parque para perritos que no conocíamos. Lo chevere de este parque es que tiene dos secciones cercadas (una para perros grandes y otra para perros chiquitos) - de manera que puedes soltarlos para que corran y jueguen por su cuenta. En las fotos ando con Mia, la perrita secuestrada; pero fue muy cómico porque la perrita no está acostumbrada a pasear y lo que hace es que se acuesta y no se mueve.Abajo hay bastantes fotitos de los perros, si te gustan los animales.. te van a encantar :). Después de eso, fuimos a comer a 100 montados y el día terminó con un maratón de "Friends". Un abrazo gigante, feliz semana a todas!

Viscaya Museum and Gardens

Like I said last week, I really want to show that Miami is more than beaches and shopping- there are amazing places... like this one. The last time I visited this "museum and garden" was in 2007 so I was super excited of going again, I love it because you feel you are in a totally different place.Vizcaya was the winter residence of American industrialist James Deering from Christmas 1916 until his death in 1925. When it was built, the Miami population was around 10,000 and 1,000 were working on this project! The house was intended to appear as an Italian estate that had stood for 400 years and had been occupied and renovated by several generations of a family. It has 34 decorated rooms with 15th through 19th century antique furnishings and art objects. Sadly, you can't take pictures inside the house but the gardens and the bay view is GORGEOUS! Este el tipo de cosas que uno jamás se imaginaría que están en Miami- como les he dicho, Miami es una ciudad tan nueva que casi todo el mundo solo la relaciona con compras e ir a la playa. Y me he puesto como misión intentar mostrarles diferentes sitios turísticos que hay, la última vez que fui a este "museo" fue en el 2007 y quedé impresionada, te sientes en otra ciudad. Para contarles un poquito, era la mansión de vacaciones de invierno de James Deering, construida en 1911- cuando la población de Miami era solo 10,000 personas. La casa es un espectáculo, lamentablemente no dejan tomar fotos adentro de la casa pero uno puede entrar a todas las habitaciones. La casa está construida como si fuera de 1500, y tiene decoraciones de cada siglo para que pareciera que muchas generaciones vivieron ahí (hasta tiene un piso escondido en donde hay 12 cuartos para la gran cantidad de personal que trabajaba ahí). Luego en la parte de afuera puedes apreciar la playa, unos jardines muy europeos, y una arquitectura bellísima. Lamentablemente, el dueño muere en 1925 y en 1926 un huracán causa muchísimos daños (como el barco que ven abajo, que seguro era como un muelle). Miami Marine Stadium

One of my goals, besides sharing my daily outfits, is showing you that Miami is so much more than beaches and shopping- even though it's a relatively new city, there are amazing places to visit. A couple of months ago I heard about this abandoned stadium in Key Biscayne so we decided to check it out. This amazing marine stadium was used for boat races, floating concerts, and more... but Hurricane Andrew destroyed it in 1992. The view of the Miami skyline is GORGEOUS and I was speechless because of the graffitis- every single corner of this stadium is covered with a graffiti (even all the seats as you can see in the pictures below). Even though the entrance is prohibited, we weren't the only ones there taking pictures.  I hope you like the pictures ( I wanted to share the hundreds of pics we took!) Have a great Sunday and week! Una de mis metas en el blog, aparte de compartir mis outfits diarios,  es mostrarles que Miami es mucho más que playa y shopping- apesar de ser una ciudad bastante nueva, hay lugares para hacer "turismo". Hace unos meses oí de un estadio abandonado en Key Biscayne y me llamó muchísimo la atención; razón por la que decidimos aventurarnos al mismo por cuestiones de aburrimiento.  Este estadio solía ser para espectáculos y carreras de botes/lanchas- pero lamentablemente el huracán Andrew lo destruyó en 1992 . Tiene una vista espectacular de Miami, y en si impresiona muchísimo porque no hay una esquinita que no esté grafitiada. Es impresionante ver como todos los asientos, paredes, pisos.. TODO tiene un graffiti- yo estaba boquiabierta. La entrada está prohibida pero no eramos los únicos ahí tomando fotos. Si tienen la oportunidad de ir se los recomiendo con toda mi alma. FASHION'S NIGHT OUT AT BEBE!

As I told you a couple of weeks ago, I hosted FNO at Miami's Bebe. I was so excited and nervous since it was my first time doing something like this. On the previous post, I shared 3 outfits and many of you knew I chose this one (you girls know me!)- however, I took some advice and decided not to use the belt. Sadly, Miami weather is not predictable and it was raining like crazy in Miami Beach- which sucks because the store is outdoors. However, I really enjoyed helping people style their outfits- specially I love helping out a guy who didn't know what to buy for his girlfriend. I realized I didn't take as many pics because I was recording a video - but I'll share it when it's ready. Also, there was a photographer who took amazing pics... I'll be stealing those soon. I really want to thank Bebe and Teen Vogue for this opportunity- and thanks each and everyone for making this possible :) Did you do anything special for FNO?

Como les conté hace unas semanas, fui la anfitriona de FNO en Bebe. En el post anterior, les mostré tres outfits y muchas adivinaron cual había escogido- y seguí algunos consejos y decidí quitarle el cinturón. Estaba super nerviosa ya que no sabía que esperar- y lamentablemente estaba lloviendo demasiado, lo cual espantó a mucha gente (Lincoln Road es al aire libre). Pero me encantó poder ayudar a la gente a escoger ropa- especialmente a un señor que quería regalarle algo a su novia.  Estaba tan pendiente de tomar videos y solo tomé poquitas fotos- pero cuando el video esté listo, lo comparto con todas! También había un fotógrafo que tomó muchas fotitas y espero poder "robarmelas pronto. ¿Hicieron algo por FNO? Cuéntenme! ¿Sabían que este era el outfit que escogí? Un abrazo!
