My dream is to fly...

   

I started doing gymnastics when I was 6, and it was my favorite thing about school. I even went to a couple of international competitions in 2001 (wow, I still can believe that was 10 years ago). Even though I can't do many of the things I did back then, I love to go back to the gym. This time, my bf dragged me with him and his friends- they were recording videos so I asked them if they could take some pics of me. Also, I took advantage of my bf's bff photoshop skills and he edited the background a little (the gym's wall looks terrible as you can see below). BTW, don't forget to enter tomorrow's challenge! No se si sabían pero hice gimnasia desde los 6 años y era lo mejor de ir al colegio. También fui a unas competencias internacionales en el 2001 (wow no puedo creer que ya han pasado 10 años).  Todavía es algo que disfruto muchísimo, y aunque no puedo hacer todo lo que hacía antes... me encanta regresar al gimnasio. Tenía tiempo sin ir a uno , pero hoy me animé a ir con mi novio y sus amigos; ellos estaban grabando videos así que les pedí que me tomaran unas fotitos. Solo quería compartir algunas de ellas (aparte aproveché al amigo de mi novio para que las editara y no se viera el fondo feo del gimnasio jaja). Por cierto, mañana publico las fotos del reto... anímense a participar! Un abrazo!

Choosing a decade for this challenge was extremely hard for me- I was very drawn to the 80s but I wanted to challenge myself and do something very classy like the 40s-50s- then, I really wanted to do my makeup like Twiggy but it was a complete fail. As you can see, I ended up doing grunge 90s- which I LOVE. Even though I got to experience the 90s and I was very into my clogs and plaid when I was around 8....I still love  90s music and one of my favorite shows is the original 90210. I hope you enjoy the pics- I really wanted to try something different: we went to downtown Miami because we thought the gratifies go perfectly with the whole grunge vibe. About my day: it was a super relaxing sunday, I did some groceries and watch Pretty Little Liars (somebody else obsessed with that show?). Have a great week! XOXO

Escoger que década hacer para este reto fue super díficil- tenía ganas de hacer los 80s pero quería retarme a hacer algo clásico como los 40s- después quería maquillarme como Twiggy en los 70s. Con lo indecisa que soy.. terminé haciendo el movimiento grunge de los 90s. Y sinceramente me encantan los 90s- aunque viví mi infancia en esta década, me encanta. Todavía mis canciones favoritas son de los 90s y uno de mis shows de tv preferidos es BH 90210. Recuerdo mucho a mis hermanos (que son 10 años mayor que yo) con sus camisas de cuadritos y a sus amigas con los pantalones altos y las "barrigas al aire". Espero que les guste, es algo diferente- quise "actuar" un poquito y no sonreir ya que siento que la onda del outfit no cuadraba con mis sonrisotas. Nos aventuramos a ir a downtown en una zona que esta toda grafiteada y me parece que va perfecto con el look. Sobre mi día: ha sido un domingo bastante tranquilo, y de diligencias (la gente me vió un poquito raro en la calle.. pero que importa!). Un abrazo inmenso a todas! Feliz semana!

Tribal print and fringe!

This is what I wore last Sunday- it was gorgeous outfit and the whole look was inspired around this fringed bag. I really wanted to achieve a tribal look- and I was upset that I didn't own any time of tribal print skirt or shorts. However, I found this summer scarf and I decided to wrap it around me as a tight skirt (don't worry, I was wearing shorts underneath just in case). If you liked the bag, I have GREAT news... I'm going to give away one just like this one! Also.. I have a quick question: do you like the new layout of the blog? I spent last night trying to give it a slight makeover. Esto fue lo que utilicé el domingo- el día estaba lindísimo y el outfit fue inspirado alrededor de esta cartera de flecos. Como quería mantener el look tribal, estaba antojadísima de usar una falda/shorts de este estilo. Lamentablemente, la única pieza con estampado tribal que tengo es un pañuelo largo- así que decidí convertirlo en una falda (no se preocupen, tenía unos shorts de hacer ejercicio debajo por si ocurría algún tipo de emergencia). Si les gustó la cartera, les tengo una buena noticia: pronto tendremos una rifa de una idéntica a esta (o de los otros colores que tienen). Por cierto, quería preguntarles.. ¿Qué les parece el ligero cambio de look del blog? ¿Les gusta?

I loved this week's challenge, I was thinking about how I could wear it the whole week- but I had to wait until Sunday because I know I would have published it sooner. As I've told you before, what you see here is what I actually wear - I've never taken pictures, just to have content ( I think it would be easier that way lol). And this challenge was a little harder because it was a Sunday afternoon and I wanted it to be wearable for the occasion. I really like that it's not overdone and looks great for the weekend. What do you think?  I think there are two tricks when it comes to mixing prints 1. one of the prints should be bigger than the other, 2. their main color should be the same (in this case, blue). This skirt has a big black elastic on the waist, and I really didn't want to wear black; reason why I tucked the t-shirt in and then I let it very loose so it would cover the elastic. Finally, I added simple accessories and a hat (it was very SUNNY outside, so it was perfect). About my day:  we just went out to have sushi for a late lunch and relaxed (a perfect sunday). Today is Memorial Day here in the USA- and even though I don't celebrate it because I'm from Venezuela, if you do: HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! xoxo


Estuve toda la semana pensando como usar estampados diferentes pero quería esperar a que fuera domingo porque soy tan desesperada que no me iba a aguantar  y lo iba a publicar. Como les he dicho siempre, lo que ven aquí es lo que uso- jamás me tomo fotos por tomarmelas (si no fuera hasta más fácil). Y este reto fue aún más difícil un domingo por la tarde, pero me gustó como quedó porque es bastante relajado para un domingo. ¿Qué dicen ustedes?. Yo considero que hay 2 trucos para mezclar estampados: 1. que uno de los estampados sea "más grande" que el otro y 2. que tengan el color principal en común. Me explico: aquí las flores casi no se entienden mientras que las rayas son bastante definidas (diferentes tamaños) y ambas tienen bastante azul. Les cuento que esta falda tiene un elástico negro en el medio pero no quería usar negro, por eso alflojé la camisa hasta que lo tapara. Lo combiné con colores marrones claros y el sombrero porque no aguantaba el sol. Mi día fue super sencillo: descansar mucho y comer sushi (yo feliz con eso!). Hoy es Memorial Day en USA, así que a tomar más fotitos porque mi fotógrafo no tiene clases ajajaj. Feliz día a todas las que lo celebren!
