Miami Marine Stadium

One of my goals, besides sharing my daily outfits, is showing you that Miami is so much more than beaches and shopping- even though it's a relatively new city, there are amazing places to visit. A couple of months ago I heard about this abandoned stadium in Key Biscayne so we decided to check it out. This amazing marine stadium was used for boat races, floating concerts, and more... but Hurricane Andrew destroyed it in 1992. The view of the Miami skyline is GORGEOUS and I was speechless because of the graffitis- every single corner of this stadium is covered with a graffiti (even all the seats as you can see in the pictures below). Even though the entrance is prohibited, we weren't the only ones there taking pictures.  I hope you like the pictures ( I wanted to share the hundreds of pics we took!) Have a great Sunday and week! Una de mis metas en el blog, aparte de compartir mis outfits diarios,  es mostrarles que Miami es mucho más que playa y shopping- apesar de ser una ciudad bastante nueva, hay lugares para hacer "turismo". Hace unos meses oí de un estadio abandonado en Key Biscayne y me llamó muchísimo la atención; razón por la que decidimos aventurarnos al mismo por cuestiones de aburrimiento.  Este estadio solía ser para espectáculos y carreras de botes/lanchas- pero lamentablemente el huracán Andrew lo destruyó en 1992 . Tiene una vista espectacular de Miami, y en si impresiona muchísimo porque no hay una esquinita que no esté grafitiada. Es impresionante ver como todos los asientos, paredes, pisos.. TODO tiene un graffiti- yo estaba boquiabierta. La entrada está prohibida pero no eramos los únicos ahí tomando fotos. Si tienen la oportunidad de ir se los recomiendo con toda mi alma. Everglades Safari Park

Like I said on the previous posts, my boyfriend's best friend is in Miami from Puerto Rico- so we wanted to go to different places... this time we headed to the Everglades. The last time I was there was when I was around 6 with my parents. There we took an airboat ride and watch a mini-crocodile show. I learned that the Everglades is not a swamp as many people think, it's actually a river that goes from the Okeechobee river to the Florida Keys- reason why depending on where you are it is salt/sweet water. I also learned that you can survive on the Everglades for a month just by eating sawgrass- and they call them like that because if you touch them in a certain way, it cuts you like a "saw". During the mini-crocodile show, I almost fainted... the crocodile bit the guy in the hand- it wasn't a big deal but it was very scary. Sorry for the long post, I hope you have an amazing week! XOXO

Como les conté, el mejor amigo de mi novio está de visita en Miami y hemos estado haciendo un poquito de "turismo interno". Esta vez nos aventuramos a los "Everglades"- lugar al que tenía sin ir desde los 6 años que fui con mis papas. Ahí agarramos un botecitos que nos paseo por la zona y luego fuimos a un mini-show con cocodrilos. Aprendí que los Everglades no es un pantano como la gente cree, sino un río que va desde el lago Okechobee hasta los cayos de Florida- y que dependiendo de la zona hay agua dulce o salada y es por eso que hay tanto cocodrilos como caimanes. También aprendí que puedes sobrevivir en los Everglades por un mes comiendo solo las matitas que llaman "sawgrass"- y se llaman así porque si las tocas de cierta forma te cortan como un "saw" o sierra. Les tengo que contar que casi me da algo durante el mini-show con cocodrilos ya que mientras que el experto nos mostraba la boca, el cocodrilo le mordió la mano- no fue nada grave pero nos echamos el susto del año! Today's post is not about the outfit, it's about the place.  We were eating nearby and I really wanted to take pictures there since it's such a beautiful square. It was built in the early 40's and it's definitely one of Caraca's landmarks (and you can see "El Avila- the mountain- in the background).  When you get out of the subway, you see this beautiful fountain and the huge obelisk. I hope you like the pics, I want to go back and take more pictures since it's such a great location. Friday's almost here! Hope you had a great week!

Hoy es uno de esos post en los que no se trata del outfit, si no del lugar. Estabamos comiendo en un restaurante cerca y al pasarle por el lado, me antojé de bajar a tomar unas fotitos en esta plaza. Para las que no son venezolanas, esta plaza fue construída a principios de 1940 y definitivamente es un lugar que hay que conocer si visitas Caracas. Tiene un obelisco en el medio y el Avila (la montaña) se ve espectacular de fondo. Justamente tiene una entrada/salida de metro y lo primero que ves al salir es esta fuente con esta cascada, el obelisco, y el Avila. Espero que disfruten las fotos- quiero regresar a tomar más fotos con calma porque de verdad es un sitio lindísimo. Ya casi es viernes! Espero que hayan pasado una bonita semana! Un abrazo.
