ALWAYS SOMETHING
THERE TO REMIND ME
BY BETH HARBISON
ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOK:
Can you ever really know if love is true? And if it is, should you stop at anything to get it?

Two decades ago, Erin Edwards was sure she’d already found the love of her life: Nate Lawson. Her first love. The one with whom she shared everything--dreams of the future, of children, plans for forever. The one she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. Until one terrible night when Erin made a mistake Nate could not forgive and left her to mourn the relationship she could never forget or get over.

Today, Erin is contentedly involved with a phenomenal guy, maneuvering a successful and exciting career, and raising a great daughter all on her own. So why would the name “Nate Lawson” be the first thing to enter her mind when her boyfriend asks her to marry him?

In the wake of the proposal, Erin finds herself coming unraveled over the past, and the love she never forgot. The more she tries to ignore it and move on, the more it haunts her.

Always Something There to Remind Me is a story that will resonate with any woman who has ever thought of that one first love and wondered, “Where is he?” and “What if…?” Filled with Beth Harbison’s trademark nostalgia humor and heart, it will transport you, and inspire you to believe in the power of first love.

PRAISE FOR ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO REMIND ME:
"Always Something There to Remind Me is a riveting look at the tender agony of first love.  Full of self-awareness and scathing wit, Beth Harbison deftly contrasts teenage romantic idealism with the reality of growing up.  Touching, truthful, and profoundly satisfying, Harbison delivers her finest work yet."
--Jen Lancaster, New York Times Bestselling Author of If You Were Here

MY REVIEW/THOUGHTS:
Who wouldn’t like to sit back with a cool beverage and relax as you listen to the audio book for ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO REMIND ME by Beth Harbison? It is the perfect way to wrap up your summer reading. Harbison weaves a romantically nostalgic story about first love from a different viewpoint than one might think. In this story, Erin Edwards is rediscovering her first love and going back to her teenage memories to accomplish this.

Erin’s tale alternates in time from being the impassioned teenager back in the 1980s to later when she is the worldly, somewhat cynical adult. ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO REMIND ME follows the “two Erins” and Harbison's satirical writing style lessens the tormented teenage years in the story just enough to make it smart reading as well as highly entertaining. Erin wavers between doing what’s right and instead, going with her emotions, winds up making a risky choice.

The first love revival is a result of Erin's current boyfriend proposing marriage. When he does, however, Erin suddenly thinks about Nate Lawson, her first love in high school. This shocks her enough that she puts things on hold as she takes a chance on true love. Erin and Nate had broken up over what appeared to be a simple mix-up and now that Erin can't stop thinking about Nate, she attempts to find him. In doing so, she learns what happened as well as a lot about love and life, and true happiness.

Harbison's love story is one of hope and fulfillment. While there are some less than “pretty” parts, she has woven this story around the complications and by doing so, gives it more depth and realism. However, Beth Harbison also keeps her readers happy with her usual pleasant writing style that she is known for as you will find when you listen to ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO REMIND ME, the Audio Book.
