WORLD OF WARCRAFT- STORMRAGE: AUTHOR INTERVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

GIVEAWAY ENDED

WORLD OF WARCRAFT

STORMRAGE

BY RICHARD A. KNAAK

ABOUT THE BOOK:

When the world of Azeroth was young, the god-like titans brought order to it by reshaping its lands and seas. Throughout their great work, they followed a magnificent design for what they envisioned Azeroth would become. Although the titans departed Azeroth long ago, that design endures to this day. It is known as the Emerald Dream, a lush and savagely primal version of the...

WORLD OF WARCRAFT

Many are the mysteries surrounding the Emerald Dream and its reclusive guardians, the green dragonflight. In times past, druids have entered the Dream to monitor the ebb and flow of life on Azeroth in their never-ending quest to maintain the delicate balance of nature.

However, not all dreams are pleasant ones. Recently the Emerald Nightmare, an area of corruption within the Emerald Dream, began growing in size, transforming the Dream into a realm of unimaginable horror. Green dragons have been unexpectedly caught up in the Nightmare, emerging from it with shattered minds and twisted bodies. Druids who have entered the darkening Dream lately have found it difficult -- sometimes even impossible -- to escape.

Nor are these the Nightmare's only victims: more and more people are being affected. Even Malfurion Stormrage, first and foremost of the druids on Azeroth, may have fallen victim to this growing threat. As uncontrollable nightmares spread across the world, a desperate quest begins to find and free the archdruid.

Soon nature's enemies will learn the true meaning of the name

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Richard A. Knaak was born in Chicago on May 28, but now splits his time between Chicago and Arkansas. Originally a chemistry major at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, he switched to Rhetoric, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree. He has been published since 1987 and his works have been translated into German, Italian, French, Danish, Japanese, Spanish, Polish, Finnish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, and Russian.

He first became interested in reading fantasy and science fiction when he discovered a copy of Andre Norton's Storm over Warlock. Devouring that, he located Roger Zelazny's Creatures of Light and Darkness and the Amber Series, then Edgar Rice Burroughs' Mars stories. Along with Edgar Allan Poe, Knaak considers these his greatest influences. Other favorite authors include Glen Cook, L. Sprague de Camp, Lawrence Watt-Evans, Harry Turtledove, Jennifer Roberson, Laurell K. Hamilton, Harry Harrison, and Robert Sawyer.

On the side, he enjoys reading, travel, food, and old movies.

INTERVIEW:

I was very excited that WORLD OF WARCRAFT-STORMRAGE Author, Richard Knaak, took time from his busy schedule just when this blockbuster book is being released, to give BOOKIN' WITH BINGO his time for an interview.

1. Is there any personal information or websites you would like to be sure your fans know about?

http://www.richardaknaak.com

2. What is the next or current book/project you are working on?

STORMRAGE is my latest project, the next exciting chapter in the World of Warcraft. In October, the second omnibus for my Dragonrealm series will also be released. I also have two Warcraft manga on the horizon this year.

3. What have you just finished reading?

The second novel in the Iron Elves series by Chris Evans. Reminds me of Cornwell’s Sharpe series mixed with Glen Cook’s Black Company.

4. What books would you say have made the biggest impression on you, especially starting out?

LORD OF THE RINGS, THE AMBER CHRONICLES & CREATURES OF LIGHT AND DARKNESS by Roger Zelazny, The John Carter Series by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and STORM OVER WARLOCK by Andre Norton, just to name a few!

5. What gets you started on a new book? A character or story idea or….?

It varies from project to project. I’ve had images in my head around which I created novels, or I’ve used single characters, or a type of setting. It’s never quite the same.

6. What is something about you that you would want people to know about you that we probably don’t know?

I’m a really big mystery fan. Some day, I may even write one.

7. What is your best advice to anyone, including young people, who want to be writers?

Keep reading and, especially, keep writing. You need to get the stories out there if you want to be a writer. You never know what you can do unless you try.

8. What is something you would like to share with us about writing your favorite genre in general?

I can’t think of a genre that allows you to go in so many directions…and that’s what makes it so much fun!
