As always, the people at Ripley's have brought out another annual that is unbelievable. There is something about these books that attract people of all ages. As I said in years past, these books were always the favorite in my class room library both in intermediate elementary grades and middle school. It was also nice to see students reading through the book together and discussing different entries. Since retiring, I have enjoyed the book on my own and with friends and family. Some of the articles can be a little gross but still grab your interest. Many of them are humorous and make me laugh. I especially like the fact that the photographs are so well done. No fuzzy pictures making you wonder if what you are looking at is true or not. I think that this year's STRIKINGLY TRUE is certainly that...striking! It has only been in my house a few weeks but has become a topic of conversation quite often. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy and share it, especially with younger members of your family. I would say children from eight-years-old and up would like it, but younger children might find it to be too much and too confusing for them. I also enjoy comparing the volumes from years past and wonder how they find so many new entries each year. Thanks to Ripley's for their hard work and interesting end product!
